Biscuits

My Nan, Monica, had a good friend called Ruby. I used to like to go visit Ruby. Unfortunately they have both passed on now, but on the last time I saw Ruby at her own place before she went into a home, she gave me this cook book as she knew I loved to cook. I thought I would bake my way through it a la "Julia and Julia' style, unless there was a recipe with something that I really didnt like in it!
Today it's Vanilla cookies. Next post, Ill let you know how they went and what the family thought of them.

Street Party

Today was our streets annual festival, the first one daughter was allowed to go to on her own (with friends, not parents). It was a good day.

Today I rode my bike to...

Dights Falls. Always wanted to do it and now I have. 16k round trip, some steep hills and a steep set of stairs to carry the bike up. It was a challenge, but feel really good now.

Little Boxes

On my travels around the inner suburbs where I live (and even the outer suburbs), flats are going up everywhere. On Saturdays I go to the Richmond market and I park outside the abandoned factory in the picture, I like the retro letters JACQUES up the top. Of course, it's about to be turned into flats. Be interested to see if they retain any of the brickwork (I doubt it has any historical value) or if they knock it flat, let's see how many levels they go to!
